Rules

Ten rules, and one of them is about cheating

Read these before the event. Most disputes on the day come from the first four.

  1. 01Teams of 3 to 5 members, primarily first and second year students.
  2. 02Every team starts with exactly 1,000 TechCoins. No team starts ahead.
  3. 03One device may be signed in per team at a time. Signing in elsewhere ends the earlier session.
  4. 04All timers are run by the server. Refreshing your browser will not restart or extend a clock.
  5. 05Answers, bids and decisions lock the moment you submit them. There are no take-backs.
  6. 06A Double Down is committed before the question is shown, and it is charged whether or not you answer.
  7. 07You cannot bid or spend TechCoins you do not have. Coins committed to a live bid are held until that lot closes.
  8. 08Organisers may freeze the leaderboard at any point. When frozen, nobody sees the standings — including through the app.
  9. 09Sharing answers between teams, using a second account, or attempting to interfere with the platform means disqualification.
  10. 10Organiser decisions on scoring and disputes are final.
